Ford Pins to Win Contest (the “Contest”)
Official Rules
Please read these rules in their entirety before entering the Contest. Please do not enter the Contest unless you agree to these rules. Participation in the Contest constitutes full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these rules which are final on all matters relating to the Contest.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
- TO ENTER: visit www.fordpinstowin.ca between 12:00:00 EST on September 21, 2009 and 23:59:59 EST on December 16, 2009 (the “Contest Period”), click on “Enter PIN”. Complete all mandatory fields on the online Contest entry form and enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) code found on the back of a “Pink Hockey Stick PIN” purchased from your local minor league hockey association and click on “submit”. For no purchase necessary entry, write an original 500 word essay explaining why it is important to create a future without breast cancer and send your essay to: , to receive a free PIN code. All essay PIN code requests must be postmarked by December 1, 2009 and received by Mosaic Sales Solutions Canada (the "Contest Judges") by December 8, 2009. Limit of one essay PIN request per unique original essay, per envelope with sufficient postage. All no purchase necessary PIN requests must include a postage-paid, self addressed envelope.
Limit of one entry per unique PIN code throughout the Contest Period.
- CONTEST ELIGIBILITY: : The Contest is open only to legal residents of the Province of Ontario who have reached the age of majority as of December 16, 2009 and excludes all employees (current and retired) of Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, Young & Rubicam, Mosaic Sales Solutions Canada, Billboard World Wide, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and their advertising and promotional agencies, Contest judging organization, prize suppliers, dealers and their parent, subsidiaries and affiliates, representatives, and agents (the “Contest Sponsors”) and those with whom they are domiciled. To be eligible, all electronic Contest entries must be received no later than 23:59:59 EST on December 16, 2009. In the event of a dispute regarding who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address in question. Authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address in question. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
- PRIZES:
Grand Prize: One (1) grand prize of a stay in either Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario will be awarded in Ontario and will include an opportunity for the winner and one guest to meet and greet with Wayne Gretzky in Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario (date and time to be determined based on Wayne Gretzky’s schedule and is subject to Wayne Gretzky’s availability), one (1) night accommodation in Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario (single room based on double occupancy) at a hotel to be decided by the Contest Sponsors, and a $150 gift certificate for a restaurant to be decided by the Contest Sponsors to be used during the stay in Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario, (the “Grand Prize”).
The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is CAD$400.00.
If the Grand Prize location is Collingwood, Ontario and the winner resides within 200km of downtown Collingwood (First St. & Hurontario St., Collingwood, Ontario) at the time of winner selection, he/she and his/her guest will be solely responsible for any and all transportation to Collingwood, Ontario in connection with claiming the Grand Prize.
If the Grand Prize location is Toronto, Ontario and the winner resides within 200km of “Wayne Gretzky’s” restaurant (99 Blue Jays Way, Toronto, Ontario) at the time of winner selection, he/she and his/her guest will be solely responsible for any and all transportation to Toronto, Ontario in connection with claiming the Grand Prize.
If the Grand Prize location is Collingwood, Ontario and the winner resides more than 200km of downtown Collingwood (First St. & Hurontario St., Collingwood, Ontario) at the time of winner selection, transportation to Collingwood, Ontario will be provided using a method chosen by the Contest Sponsor, and in such event, the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must travel together on the same itinerary.
If the Grand Prize location is Toronto, Ontario and the winner resides more than 200km from Toronto “Wayne Gretzky’s” restaurant (99 Blue Jays Way, Toronto, Ontario) at the time of winner selection, transportation to Toronto, Ontario will be provided using a method chosen by the Contest Sponsor, and in such event, the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest must travel together on the same itinerary.
The Grand Prize stay in Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario must occur between January 8, 2010 and December 31, 2010. Transportation (if applicable) and hotel are based upon availability.
Any and all costs and expenses relating to and associated with the Grand Prize including, but not limited to passport renewal fees, travel insurance, personal purchases, meals, additional ground transportation (including transportation to and from airports, trains stations or hotels), taxes (including any departure taxes) and fees, gratuities, room service and any incidental expenses not specifically stated as included in the Grand Prize shall be the sole financial responsibility of the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest, and the Contest Sponsors shall not be held accountable for any costs and expenses whatsoever in relation thereto and the Grand Prize winner and his/her guest shall not seek reimbursement for same from the Contest Sponsors.
To receive the Grand Prize, the winner must be a legal resident of Ontario and over the age of 18 as of December 16, 2009.
In the event the Grand Prize winner’s chosen guest is under the age of majority in Ontario at the time of winner selection, the chosen guest’s parent or legal guardian must expressly consent, in writing, to the winner as the accompanying adult for the stay in Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario in order for the guest to take part in the Grand Prize.
Secondary Prizes: Ten (10) secondary prizes will be awarded in Ontario, each consisting of one (1) Ford/Wayne Gretzky gift package (a "Secondary Prize"). The approximate retail value of each gift package is CAD$65.00.
Each gift package consists of a Ford toque, a Wayne Gretzky wristband, a water bottle, a Ford sunglass clip, a Wayne Gretzky keychain, a Wayne Gretzky shirt and a hockey bag.
Prizes may not be exactly as shown in Contest publicity or promotional materials. All incidental costs and expenses not specifically referred to shall be the sole responsibility of the winner(s), or his/her guest, if applicable.
- RANDOM DRAW: One (1) eligible Grand Prize winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received. Ten (10) Secondary Prize winners will then be selected by random draw from all remaining eligible entries received. The drawings will be held in Mississauga, Ontario at 12:00:00 EST on December 16th, 2009 by the Contest Judges. The eligible winner(s) will be contacted by e-mail, telephone or mail within 14 business days of the draw. If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within 14 business days of the draw or if contacted, refuses his/her prize, does not claim his/her prize on or before January 8th , 2010, or does not meet the Contest conditions outlined in these rules, another winner may be selected by random draw from all remaining eligible entries.
Chances of winning a prize are solely dependent on the total number of eligible entries received.
- PRIZE SUBSTITUTION: Prizes (or prize portions) are non-exchangeable, non-transferable, non-refundable, have no cash surrender value and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions. Contest Sponsors reserve the rights, at their sole discretion, to substitute a prize (or prize portion) awarded with (a) prize(s) of equivalent or greater value for any reason. If an opportunity to meet and greet Wayne Gretzky as part of the Grand Prize cannot be arranged or is cancelled due to Wayne Gretzky’s schedule/availability, the Contest Sponsor is under no obligation to provide a substitute for that portion of the Grand Prize.
- GENERAL CONDITIONS: To win, the selected entrants must first have complied with these rules and correctly answered, unaided, a time limited skill-testing question to be administered by e-mail or telephone by the Contest Judges at a prearranged mutually convenient time. The selected entrant(s) will be required to sign a standard release form confirming compliance with and agreement to be bound by these rules, release of Contest Sponsors, their directors, officers, dealers, partners and employees from any and all liability, and acceptance of (a) prize(s) as awarded within ten (10) days after receipt. All decisions of the Contest Judges and Contest Sponsors are final. All entries are subject to verification. Contest Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify a person if he/she enters this Contest or tries to do so by any means contrary to these rules or which would be unfair to other entrants or where Contest entries are generated by any mechanical or automated means. Entry materials that have been tampered with, reproduced, falsified or altered are void. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, his/her prize(s) may be awarded to an alternate winner by random draw from among all remaining eligible Contest entries. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of laws and may be subject to remedies and damages, including criminal prosecution. This Contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws. Void where prohibited.
- PUBLICITY: By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Contest Judges and Contest Sponsors, and consents to the use of their name, city of residence, likeness, photograph, image and voice without payment or compensation, in any publicity or advertising in any medium carried out by the Contest Sponsors. All essays and entries become the property of Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited and will not be returned.
- PRIVACY: By completing and submitting the information requested on the online entry form for participation in the Contest, an entrant consents to the collection, use, and disclosure of his/her personal information by the Contest Sponsors and their agents and representatives for the purposes of (i) the administration of the Contest, and (ii) if an entrant has so elected, to allow the Contest Sponsors and/or authorized third parties selected by the Contest Sponsors to provide the entrant with information on the Contest Sponsor’s products and/or services.
- MODIFICATION OR TERMINATION: Subject to applicable law, the Contest Sponsors reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify these rules or administration of or suspend this Contest in whole or in part without prior notice with no obligation or liability, including if for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, whether due to technical failure, or computer virus, tampering, fraud, or corruption of security or proper administration of the Contest or other causes beyond the control of Contest Sponsors. In such event, a winner may be selected by randomly drawing from among all valid entries received up to the time of cancellation, termination or suspension.
- LIABILITY: The Contest Sponsors, their directors, officers, partners, dealers and employees shall not be responsible for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind (compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise) with respect to, or in any way arising from, this Contest or the prize(s) awarded, including but not limited to: (i) any injuries, losses, damages, claims or liabilities arising from the Grand Prize winner's or his/her guest's acceptance or enjoyment of the Grand Prize (or Grand Prize portion), including any such losses arising from travel to or from Collingwood, Ontario or Toronto, Ontario; (ii) lost, stolen, not received, destroyed, damaged, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, fraudulent or late entries which will be void and not eligible; (iii) failure to receive entries for any reason or technical failures or errors of any kind, including but not limited to incorrect or inaccurate capture or loss of entry information, omissions, lost/delayed/garbled data, transmission failure, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, servers, or software, traffic congestion on the internet or any website or any other online communication problems or any combination thereof; (iv) seeding or printing or typographical errors in any Contest related material or human error; or (v) any injury or damage to participants or any other persons computer system(s) due to viruses or otherwise or breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computers. A prize winner's refusal or inability to accept (a) prize(s) awarded shall release the Contest Sponsors from all obligation. In no event shall the Contest Sponsors be held to award more prizes than what is mentioned in these rules or to award prizes otherwise than in compliance with these rules.
